Although selenite has the power to cleanse and charge other crystals, you still need to cleanse selenite to remove any negative energies picked up.
The marketed version of Selenite isn’t really Selenite, but Satin Spar. Both Selenite and Satin Spar are varieties of gypsum, and is composed of calcium sulphate dihydrate; however whilst selenite has a transparent, platy appearance, Satin Spar is marked by its layered appearance and pearly sheen.
